Turning a Web3 drop into a blueprint for artist ownership.

With his new single YKHIC, Logan H. James fuses music, blockchain, and strategy

Turning a Web3 drop into a blueprint for artist ownership.

Logan H. James has never played by industry rules—and with his latest single release, he's rewriting them. Known for pairing lyrical sharpness with strategic precision, James' YKHIC isn't just a single—it's a digital asset built for Web3 by leaning into blockchain technology and backing the release with XRP.

Further, XRP is a fast, low-cost cryptocurrency used for digital payments—ideal for turning music into blockchain-backed assets. James is creating a blueprint that bridges culture, technology, and ownership.

Why XRP, Why Now?

When asked what the inspiration behind launching YKHIC as an NFT was, James expressed, "I got the idea from seeing what LaRussell was doing—letting people buy into the performance of the record. That was cool, but I thought, let's take it further. Put it on the blockchain, use crypto, and make it more innovative. Just my touch."

Building the Drop

To bring James' vision to life, he aligned himself with Enlightened XR, a creative tech collective that uses VR and AI to build immersive experiences. Known for their work on platforms like Ascended Vizion, the team brought the technical vision and Web3 fluency needed to help James turn YKHIC into more than a release—but a digital asset.

Fan Value, Artist Power

So, what do fans get out of owning YKHIC as an NFT? James explained:

"XRP has been growing. It's being talked about in a lot of spaces. By holding crypto, you'll see your money grow. We're working on increasing what you can earn by holding the singles. And for artists, it's a way to work directly with your fan base and keep the money. You get the ownership—the ball's in your court. You decide how to market and advertise. And at least you get the funding."

The Bigger Play

Moreover, the release of YKHIC is a part of a larger experiment in how independent artists can use Web3. This release is a strategic test of the space and its potential.

"This is just me doing artist development in these spaces. This isn't the actual drop or rollout. We're seeing what the space looks like—experimenting with what we can do. We haven't advertised anything because we haven't released it yet. When we're ready, we'll formulate the move." That calculated approach extends to how James views NFTs— and the skepticism surrounding them.

"If you are working for money, it's a cash grab. Everybody works for money. But we're not creating our crypto—we're using something solid that is already in place. XRP isn't a buy-and-dump. People in the space know what it is." For James, ownership is not optional — it's the foundation. YKHIC is now available for purchase as an NFT at itslogan.org.
