Baltimore’s Own Logan H. James Commands Artscape With Purpose and Power

Artscape 2025 was an unforgettable event featuring breathtaking performances and a diverse array of vendors. Largely heralded as America's largest free outdoor music festival, Artscape 2025's mission was clear: to be BOLD. TRANSFORMATIVE. UNAPOLOGETICALLY BALTIMORE. And the weekend was just that. However, as everyone knows, an event like Artscape can't just feature musical acts like Robin Thicke, Fantasia, and LeToya Luckett without having a host who will keep the energy at a high level and interact with the crowd during the interludes.

Artscape entrusted internationally regarded entertainer and marketing and advertising expert Logan H. James to handle the hosting and responsibility of keeping the crowd engaged throughout the entire weekend. Although he's hosted events across Baltimore, the U.S., and even internationally, he recognized the unique significance of hosting Artscape.

The Ctrl Room caught up with James, who spoke candidly about what his experience was like hosting Artscape: "The experience was unmatched," he said. "I've felt like I've been overlooked for opportunities in this city, so when this one came, I wasn't about to let it go to waste." Compared to other events he has hosted, James emphasized that he was captivated by the diversity and unity he observed among the people who attended the event. "It was different because it brought all ages and cultures into one place," he explained, "seeing people from different walks of life interact with each other was powerful. I definitely see myself doing more of this — hosting is something I was doing before the music, and I've been wanting to return to it for a while." One standout moment for him? "It was dope to hear my record blasting from the speakers while I was hosting and watching people react to it — surreal, for sure."

Reflecting on the weekend as a whole, James highlighted something more profound than just the music or the crowd. "My biggest takeaway was that Baltimore has a lot of love within itself," he said. "We sometimes have trouble expressing ourselves, but when we open up and share our trauma, we can actually help each other grow."

Moving ahead, James isn't slowing down. "Next stop is Detroit," he confirmed, where he'll be part of the Midwest Music Conference from June 6–9. He's also currently leading in the polls to win Rolling Stone's America's Next Top Hitmaker competition.
